The first gas was introduced in 1914 known as tear gas which was a non-lethal gas but caused those who came into contact with it to tear and hence the name tear gas. There were three gases introduced to the war around the same time one was chlorine lethal gas if you inhaled high levels of it this, the side effects of this gas was damage in the eyes, nose, throat, and lungs also death by asphyxiation. The second gas to be introduced was phosgene also a lethal gas, the side effects of this gas was damage to the lungs causing suffocation. The third gas was mustard gas the worst gas of all three gases the side effects of the gas was vomiting, and internal and external blistering and bleeding
